What is the difference between an electric guitar and a bass guitar?
What is the difference between an electric guitar and a bass guitar?
i heard that bass guitars can be electric too but they are different. How are they different. Are they in the same category despite being different? Whats the difference between an "electric guitar" and an "electric 'base' guitar"? Please explain, than you in advance.
Ok, well there are multiple differences. First off, an electric guitar has six strings (basically) and a bass has 4 unless more are added, but that's for advance players. The bass guitar has a longer neck where as the guitar is short. The bass guitar strings are thicker and the notes are lower, you write the notes in the bass clef. On the guitar the notes are higher and notes are mainly written on the G clef (there are some that go below that onto the bass clef, but other then that you'd have to use a drop tuning like drop D or drop C.) The bass guitar is more of a rhythm giver where as the regular guitar is more of a lead instrument. Plus, the strings on a bass guitar are different than the strings on an electric guitar as far as notes are concerned. I hope that helps you out, I have this question once too!!!
